Anesthsiologists (2) and OR nurses
(2 for circulating) are needed to join Drs. Jason Wilson and
Ismael Zamilpa (urology) in San Salvador, El Salvador October
23 - 30 2010. This mission will take place at
the national children's hospital, Hospital Bloom.
Local surgeons will assist and also be given instruction in
laparoscopic techniques. If interested please contact us as soon

Guatemala Podiatry Mission:
Dr. Vicki Anton-Athens and her colleagues will go to Hospital
Gustavo Casteneda near Zacapa November 6, 2010. Most
of her team is assembled, but stay-tuned just in case.
This will be HTCSW's first visit to this hospital and we are
looking forward to a new venue. They may also
take a general pediatrics surgeon and a dentist. This will
be Dr. Athens fifth surgical mission to Guatemala since 2007.

| La Troncal,
Ecuador: We seeking a pediatric plastic
surgeon with prior international volunteer experience, and
proficient in hand surgery, for a surgical mission to Hospital
Dario Machucas in La Troncal, Ecuador at the beginning of 2011.
We will also need one anesthesiologist, one circulating nurse,
and a pediatrician. Team members will be

Leaving HTCSW:
Rita Lavin is moving from Albuquerque to Chicago soon which will
be a great loss to HTCSW as she has volunteered as executive
director since 2006. We wish Rita all the best of
luck. Our appreciation is deep for her unselfish
service. |

In Memory: We are
very sad to announce the tragic death of Dr. Kevin Burbige
(Urology) (Connecticut). He volunteered for HTCW
medical missions to El Salvador in 2007and 2008. His loss
is immeasurable in so many ways. |

Rewarding Mission to Santiago Texacuangos,
El Salvador, February 27 - March 6, 2010. Once
again our thanks to the team who had another successful mission
to Hospital La Divina Providencia providing surgical services to

Successful clinical trip to
Guatemala:
Dr. Carl Friedrichs, MD, Kit
Elliott, LPN, and Rita Lavin (HTC trip administrator) assisted the overwhelmed staff at ASSADE, located
in San Andres Itzapa; in November 2009. They served
approximately 145 children. They hope to return in
the furture. |

the Children is organizing to bring children to the US for
